BJ SMIC Private School is a Preschool through 12th Grade institution. Currently, there are 1650 students and 260 full time teachers from 16 nationalities. The School stresses each student’s holistic development and also emphasizes the importance of moral integrity in education.

Beijing SMIC Private School employs more than 70 expatriate teachers and 400 local teachers, and as we are expanding, we continue to hire qualified staff throughout the year.

Class Sizes

In our English Track elementary and middle school division, teachers work with up to 25 students in each class.

Work Hours

• Elementary/Middle School Session:
  • Monday through Friday, 7:45 am – 3:00 pm.
  • The workday ends at 4:30 pm.

Occasional government-mandated weekend workdays.

Abroad ESL Teacher Job Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, English, Linguistics, TESOL, or related subject matter to subject positions.
• Teachers must have a bachelor’s degree in teaching, education or English (or in a related subject area) and teaching license.
• Two (2) years of teaching experience.
• Successful candidates typically have excellent professional ethics and moral qualities; agree with the education and teaching philosophy of SMIC schools and kindergartens and are willing to develop together both the school and their own professional skills.
• Employment Age – Due to governmental work visa restrictions, employees at the time of hire cannot be 60 years of age or older.
• Three years of full-time teaching experience in a regular school is preferred.
• Passport from an English-speaking country.
