English Pre-school Teacher in Hungary Full Time

Job description

BGC Hungary is looking for an early year educator to achieve its goal to provide an innovative, award-winning bilingual preschool and afterschool program. Placements are in public preschools (kindergartens) in the 13th district of Budapest, Hungary.

A successful candidate will:

• Provide a native English environment through stories, songs, games and craft activities in a bilingual setting.
• Lead our full-immersion English language BGC Preschool curriculum while serving as a facilitator.
• Prepare visual aids to be able to give comprehensible input for our non-native preschoolers.
• Work side-by-side with a Hungarian licensed preschool teacher from 8.00 am-13.00 pm daily.
• Have 25 contact hours/week spent in the preschool group, not counting preparation and meeting time.
• Cooperate with the Hungarian preschool teachers to create 2-week project plans.
• Occasionally help organize and participate in site events such as craft afternoon with parents, or help children get ready for the end of year performances.
• Attend occasional meetings with BGC Program Coordinator and co-teachers.

Requirements

• Native English speaker or balanced bilingual (CEF level C2).
• A bachelor’s degree in any field (a degree in education is valued).
• Commitment to 12 months.
• TEFL / CELTA certificate if the applicant is not a licensed teacher.

Salary and benefits

• 265.000 – 330.000 HUF before taxes (details discussed in the interview).
• Enrolled in Hungarian National Health Care.
• For gaining extra compensation, opportunity for taking up sessions at the BGC Afterschool Program.
  Compensation is paid monthly as per Hungarian practice.
