Job Description

Gold Star is now recruiting passionate and qualified English teachers who are enthusiastic about teaching young learners in China.  The positions available are located in: Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Haian (a city in Nantong), Pinghu (a city in Jiaxing).

The main responsibilities include:

-Teaching speaking and listening skills using our ESL curriculum and materials
-Teaching pre-reading skills to children using a unique literacy system
-Teaching reading and comprehension skills
-Teaching writing skills including grammar, narratives, editing and publishing
-Teaching oral presentation and communication skills
-Help children develop social skills and positive classroom behavior
-Conducting pre-enrolment assessments for new students
-Participate in marketing events
-5-day working week (usually Wednesday to Sunday) with 2 consecutive days off mid-week
-Maximum 40-hour working week
-Maximum 25 teaching hours per week
-Maximum 15 hours admin work/marketing events per week

Requirements

-Bachelor’s degree required.
-TEFL certificate with 120 hours or above required
-Native English speaker from the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland or South Africa
-Teaching experience preferred but not required
-Fluency in oral and written English
-Patient, motivated and passionate in teaching young learners

Salary and Benefits

-Excellent salary: 16,000 to 20,000 RMB gross per month (depending on qualifications and teaching experience)
-Housing provided in a convenient location to the learning center
-Airport pick-up upon arrival
-End of contract bonus: 1-month base salary
-Flight reimbursement on contract completion: up to 6,500 RMB
-10 days paid annual leave plus all Chinese public holidays
-Medical leave 5 days
-Legal ‘Z’ work visa provided
-Hospitalization insurance provided for accident and illness
-Professional in-depth training provided at headquarters in Guangzhou during the first 7 days (1,500 RMB paid)     plus periodic curriculum update training
-All curriculum material provided and ongoing academic support
